In Rimouski, Québec, while on vacation I stopped to see the old Onondaga submarine. It was decommissioned a decade ago, bought for 4$, towed from Halifax to it's actual emplacement to become a museum, you can even rent cabins inside for the night. The restoration and the pulling of the beast on the shore was a big enterprise. There was some mishaps and some damage done to the haul in the process. Even though it is old and rusty, you get a sens of how It was a nice vessel in the 1960's.

On video, you see a folger's coffee can lid on the haul....made me laugh as this was surely put in place to prevent birds from nesting inside...still :)
