    • @piruly Well, are you sharp. You are correct my friend. It started after the Civil War. But tradition of both Memorial Day and Veterans Day has become one "nearly" the same. Im old enough to remember when it was just "Decoration Day" and we covered the cemeteries with flowers and flags. But I dont know exactly why, it started going beyond that and to cover all veterans.     • @piruly Hee, hee. Im 65. No you arent as old. That doesnt matter my friend. We still humped a ruck, some more, some less. I went to Sill many many years ago TDY to teacha F.O. School for Pathfinders. ( We used to be LRRP, but they renamed us, ha haha.)
      I remember it was hotter than the boiler room of Hell then, and I have been in some hot places. Whew.
