Is Naturalistic Biogenesis Scientific?

Dr. A. E. Wilder-Smith
Research department of ICI in England. After the war, he became Countess of Lisburne Memorial Fellow at the University of London. Subsequently, Dr. Wilder-Smith was appointed Director of Research for a Swiss pharmaceutical company. Later he was elected to teach Chemotherapy and Pharmacology at the Medical School of the University of Geneva for which position he received his "habitation" (the senior examination required for professorial appointments to European continental universities). At Geneva, he earned his second doctorate, followed by a third doctorate from the ETH (a senior university in Switzerland) in Zurich. In 1957-1958 Wilder-Smith was Visiting Assistant Professor at the Medical Centre of the University of Illinois, 1959-1961 Visting Full Professor of Pharmacology of the University of Bergen Medical School in Norway. After a further two years at the University of Geneva, he was appointed Full Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Illinois Medical Centre. Here he received in three succeeding years - three ``Golden Apple Awards" for the best course of lectures, together with four senior lecturer awards for the best series of year lectures. Dr. Wilder-Smith's last Golden Apple award was inscribed, ``He made us not only better scientists, but also better men." "Dr. A.E. Wilder-Smith was one of the two or three most important scientists in my life. He very powerfully influenced my intellectual development and my change of opinion on the origin of man. His writings, in particular The Creation of Life and The Scientific Alternative to Neo-Darwinian Evolutionary Theory, and the discussions I had with him were outstanding and had a great impact on my views and thoughts on origins. He was a courageous, supportive and gracious man, and he is greatly missed." —Dr. Dean Kenyon Professor of Biology, San Francisco State University "It is to Professor Wilder-Smith that I owe the scientific falsification of evolutionary theory, which had become the scientific concretion of Hegelian dialectics as the alternative to metaphysics and theology. Wilder-Smith was the first and only person to have the courage to refute evolutionary theory as a whole on a principle level. In the meantime there are a number of renowned critics of single aspects of evolutionary theory. But nobody has dared attack or question evolutionary theory as such outside of the narrow confines of their own specialty. This is because no philosopher or scientist has identified and recognized the diabolic perversion of the substitution of principles: development of the spirit out of nature at the expense of individual particularities—instead of the incarnation of the spirit for the redemption of persons enslaved by sin." —Professor Dr. Alma von Stockhausen Professor of Philosophy, University of Freiburg i.Br., Germany "Professor Wilder-Smith's brilliant mind and extensive scientific training and research have not only been devoted to the service of mankind in general but has also been devoted to the service of God in particular. Utilizing his vast store of knowledge and unique and brilliant abilities to communicate, Professor Wilder-Smith has proclaimed the truth of God's creation and His sustaining grace through both the spoken and written word with tremendous effectiveness." —Duane Gish Vice-president, Institute for Creation Research, San Diego, California "It was an unforgettable experience to listen to his lectures on fundamental problems on the evolutionary doctrine and Biblical creation. His outstanding personality, his far-reaching knowledge and his unique talent to fascinate during lectures attracted many listeners throughout the world. In remembering Wilder-Smith, innumerable Christians are grateful to their Lord for this fearless witness who helped many to jettison pseudo-scientific ballast and to find access to the living Word of God. May our Lord grant that the mighty witness of Wilder-Smith may continue to reach many people through this present work even after his home-going, and that it may glorify the Creator of heaven and earth." —Professor Dr. Dr. Theodor Ellinger Rector of Cologne University, Cologne, Germany
