GROM Comandos kill 20 Taliban
The incident took place on the 26th of July. GROM commandos went on a combat patrol with the support of the air-assault unit separate from the Polish Task Force. After landing the Poles were then attacked by four times numerically superior Taliban forces.
The Taliban then surrounded the Poles. The exchange of fire lasted over three hours. During the battle, 20 Taliban fighters were killed and 14 wounded, among the dead was their commander. Two GROM soldiers had been slightly wounded.
The Ministry of Defense did not comment on the event. - We do not comment on special forces operations - said in an interview with TVN24 Janusz Walczak of the Defence Ministry (MON).
