BARRY MEETS WITH BRAD PITT @ THE WHITE HOUSE!

Barack Obama took a break from battling the recession to discuss New Orleans on Thursday ... with Brad Pitt.

The "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" star managed to nab a secret sitdown from the new president while in Washington D.C. to meet with members of Congress, sources tell the Daily News. The meet was brief, and took place before Pitt met with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and others.

Seems there are no hard feelings between the two after Obama's advisers turned down Pitt's offer to help with his presidential campaign in 2007.

At the time, Obama insiders said they felt Pitt was "a great guy," but they didn't want their candidate to appear to be "too Hollywood."

Water under the bridge, eh, Brad?

Pitt lobbied his way through 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. - and most of D.C. - with Elizabeth Hurley's billionaire baby daddy Stephen Bing, former Bill Clinton staffer Chad Griffin and philanthropist (and occasional Angelina Jolie mouthpiece) Trevor Nielson, a D.C. insider tells Gatecrasher.

  • Pelosi will have to change her damp panties after this visit. She better be careful or the tramp stamp queen will come a calling.

  • Pitt is a good person... So is Jolie. Naive brainwashed Hollywood-zombies though they may be, they're philanthropists who truly care about doing good.

    • I won't deny they've both done good work but I can't help but think this whole meeting was a publicity stunt and self-serving. His arrival could have been kept quiet until afterwards but it was leaked beforehand to draw a crowd.

      According to CNN's account:

"One thing's for sure: policy conferences on the Hill don't usually pull out a crowd like this.

A throng of giggling fans, mostly female, gathered to catch a glimpse of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" star as he p More..

    • It's probably impossible for him to avoid publicity. But what does it matter? I don't think someone who does the work they do are driven by ego or egocentricity. They could drop out of the spotlight tomorrow, forever, and probably have more money than some small countries do. Publicity might also be a legitimate way to draw attention to whatever issue it is now. *shrug* Benefit of the doubt IMO.

    • He has donated millions of his own money and many more millions from fundraising events he has been involved with (of which I assume you were aware), so his meeting with any gov't official, celebrity, etc. should be maximized for additional publicity to help the charity fundraising.

  • Ya know...Barry is a more likable name than Barack...you Republiturds might watch it or you'll end up helping the Messiah out.

I mean, other than the pathetic choices of people you choose to represent your party. Not much to pick from, though.
