Been a lot of scepticism...but in the final analysis, no al qaeda take over, no new civil war, no new dictator
Lets hope it lasts...

@ElegantDecline my only concern is if the muslim brotherhood wins or loses in this there will be problems, if they win will they push for more islamic practices, or if they lose will they drive the country into more fighting

@gafffer The liberal coalition won the election in Libya...may hunch is that the MB across the region realise they can only work through the Democratic process now
Its early days, but Tunisia and Egypt look positive in this sense...this week Muslim Brotherhood calling Islamist terrorists 'infidels' and bombing them
Are you the guy that likes Daniel Pipes? He's got it all wrong...this is becoming very clear now

They are still killing each other based on race and tribe and religion. Dysfunctioning, even if it is a democratic republic (on paper). De facto, the war in not over. Al Jazeera can DECLARE it to be, but declaring things don't make them so. I have declared myself king of the world right here on LL in the past. Let's just say I'm not getting the respect a world king deserves. Nobody has even mentioned it.
