  • It says in the bible, in at least four places, that whatever a believer asks the lord truly believeing then they shall recieve.

If that is the case then surely these people can simply pray that everyone converts to christianity and that will be that.

One wonders why they don't try it.

Ah, theism. Marshalls of the power of wishful thinking.
Alas, if wishes were fishes we'd all be fat and fed.

Getting everything you want and being content with everything you have are seperate issues.

Prayer requests work in one of three ways: Sometimes the answernis yes, no, or maybe. Just like a magic eightball.

I understand what you are saying but, if you really want or need something then you have to get it by your own doing or help from another person. Praying just gives self assurance.

    Am i wrong?

The bible specifically states that a believer who asks WILL receive. There is no yes, no or maybe about it.

If I ask then I don't get. I am not a believer. If a true believer asks and doesn't get then that leaves three scenarios ...

a/ There is a God but the person asking isn't a true believer

b/ There is a God but the bible, Gods word, is a pack of lies

    c/ There is no God

None of the above could be construed as a good result for someone who believes themselves to be a believer

Wrong on what exactly? Of course prayer is just self-assurance.

My point is, if "the lord helps those who help themselves", than thanks for nothing, I'll do it myself. Or as Bill-O says: "****it, we'll do it live!"

So, why bother sitting there talking to yourself? Or heck, at least just be honest about it. It is "SELF" assurance, after all, isn't it?

"Dear Lord help my magic 8-ball to be more accurite"

Just sack up, put the imaginary friends away, and get 'er done.

    Am I wrong?
