I beleive he said it was based on a Mercedes C class.
And since Chrysler was mostly owned by Daimler Benz at the time I would say it was designed in Germany. It appears the only good thing on this car by the driver's account would be the American engine. ie. the Hemi. LOL!

Correct, this car was designed in Germany and the only award it won prior to it's quick demise and plummeting sales was it's American engine.
Same went with the Crossfire SRT, great car, but as usual with MB ideology, it was overpriced. The car makes a great collectors car thanks to the little AMG motor... heck, you buy them cheaper than you buy chevy cobalts for of the same model year.

OK! Let me see this.... $60,000 car vs $30,000 car.... Yea ok!! I think I can live with the cheaper car for a 10th of a second difference in a quarter mile. Besides the Chrysler supports the American economy.

Hmm so whats the Deal with the New E Class diesels taking a shit at 10k kilometers? Was in Germany last month and was given a brand new E class with the diesel had less than 7k kilometers on it and it shit the bed. Wouldnt go faster than 15kmh. Had to have Eurocar come out with a replacement rental, an Audi, which wasnt bad but it sure as hell wasnt much to write home about.

FFS that BMW costs double the Chrysler. I'd like to see this same test between the same Beemer and a comparably priced Cadalac CTS-V with 556 HP. No we don't want that now do we?
