This day was a day of rejoice for Israelis and Palestinians alike- I find it very unique for this place, where both nations, bitter enemies from time to time, can both be so full of joy at the same time, each one from a cause which is in total contrast with each other, and still the joy is probably the same.


I've decided not to get into what might be separating between the two (Prisoners with blood on their hands which are considered murderers in one side and heroes in the other ) but to focus here only in what brought the two nations together, even if each one was dealing with it's own- if we got used to a game in which one sides 'win' and the other 'loose' (Exploded buses, Air attacks,Knives,Checkpoints,Walls, body bags and so on) then today it was different- both sides won! both of them had smiles on their faces, doesn't matter now what was the reason.


The song in the video here was one of the songs in Israel which 'escorted' Gilad Shalit long years in captivity, or more likely his mother, (and other soldiers which didn't return alive or return at all) but it fits both sides,both nations,both mothers.
