Static line parachute jump fatality cut away too low
Happened in Brazil. Female jumper became entangled with her main parachute lines on exit. She cut away at about 50 meters but this was too low for the reserve to inflate. She died on impact.

What the fuck? that landing, although really horrible, would have been survivable with the first chute compromised as it was. She ended up killing herself, RIP.

Lesson to be learnt we get taught at flight school: if there is a problem, do something about it. If you don't, it could kill you. As we see here..

If there is a problem you better have rehearsed the problem and solution a thousand times before or you very well may die. (same goes for flying, etc.)

That's very true! Not always the solution being the hard part - keeping a cool head is the hardest. I don't know training procedures for skydiving but surely that's a part of going solo (practising this sort of thing) :x?

That's a line over canopy, only two ways to clear this, pull down on the riser, if line does not clear, look/ reach / pull/ dumping main, count one thousand, two thousand' three thousand and look / reach / pull, deploying secondary. If you get a malfunction on the secondary grab a whole lot of religion, cause you ain't gonna make it.

One of the lines was wrapped around her legs. She should have a cutter as well and if she did, she lost it.
