On Thursday morning, police in Acapulco discovered the body of a 4-year-old girl, resting next to the bullet-riddled body of a woman. The little girl had been shot twice in the chest.

The grisly find, marked the fifth child killed this week in the resort city, due to drug-related violence.

On Tuesday, a 2-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were killed along with a 60-year-old woman who attempted to shield them with her own body as gunmen opened fire on their home. Police recovered more than 200 shell casings from the crime scene.

That same day, two 15-year-olds were also killed in separate attacks.
