It's also remarkable how everyone pretty much knew instantly that this was now a terrorist attack and not an accident as was first thought.

What makes things worse, not a single one responsible for this even has been punished yet. Not a single one... And it is absolutely doubtful that will ever happen.
That means similar events could happen again, anytime. (which already happened, although on a smaller scale).
It's a truly f*cked up world we live in...

i remember the whole day too. at the time i lived very close to I-75 which always has traffic and under a major flyway.
i went upstairs at about 12 noon and went onto the back porch. it was such a beautiful clear blue day. i could hear no traffic at all from the interstate. and absolutly no planes in the sky.
it was scary eerie quiet.
