My Traditional Kabbalistic Foundations for a Scientific World View... (yes... I digresseth much on this one...)
 Part of channel(s): Yoursay (promoted)

I've decided to begin my weekly AudioSay monologue series by laying a foundational springboard upon which to delineate and explore the implications of a comprehensive scientific world view according to ancient Jewish mystical tradition.

This view requires no blind faith, but rather a frank analysis of the way things really are and what it means for all humanity.

I do not intend on submitting recurrent Kabbalistic lectures on here but rather am establishing the launching pad of how I view the universe and everything in it before gong into what it implies for what is occurring in the world today and will shape the future to come.

  • What little Leitman described and what I gathered from you sounds like determinism combined with chaos theory, so that people are somehow individuals yet still lack free choice. Interesting food for thought though I don't buy it.

You were very wise taking the time to establish your reputation as a level-headed member of the Liveleak community prior to sharing this. Had you opened your account and promptly started discussing Kabbala, you'd have caught pure hell for it

    • @john1054 I fully expected whatever backlash for my posing this but, if I',m going to be honest about "where I am coming from" at the outset, then I'm prepared to deal with all reactions to my position.

Totally respectable, as long as blocks/deletions are for true trolls, not just those with compelling arguments that happen to be contrary to your views.

    • @jackal452 mass skepticism (or even flat out rejection) was expected and not a "bad" thing it itself from my pov. I haven't had to delete or block anyone on here to date and I doubt it will ever happen from my end since I have no problems with dissenting points of views.

    • @BloodyPeasant I have often wondered how we can live as civilized as we actually do, considering we all know we're f--ked. We know we're gonna die etc. There's no escaping. But then I watch some of the featured stuff here on LL and sadly, it all makes sense.

    • @BloodyPeasant All so true and very eloquently put, all ideologies, belief systems, and philosophies can be accurately categorized as merely frameworks of particular world views--and I totally concur with you when you describe it as one of so many paths because that's all it really is in reality.

Be that as it may, a path is something which leads to somewhere even though it might just be a fantasy.

I'd just rather my fantasy be based on facts or what I fancy to be such--on the other hand--I co More..

  • I've always been fascinated with hard determinism and the intro touches on that. I will sure check out that guy further .. when it's not weekend. I think our identity is equal only to the genetic permutation, the time we live in and the social input given us. The result of that is our sense of identity and "self". But it's just a clever trick by our brain. Anyway, I digress as usual, really nice vid though.

  • you lost me when you used the word vigorous instead of rigorous - if ur gonna propose profound ideas, master the language first

    Posted Oct-5-2012 By

    • @chronecro I meant rigorous and you are correct in its usage--but you still got the general idea nonetheless... and no I'm not going to jump on your usage of "ur" which is not a word in any dictionary of the English language. My handle on it is quite adequate as it so happens and I don't get all stuffy about it's miss use whenever I encounter as I have with your post...

  • Kabbalah is probably one of the most interesting, complicated and hardest things to follow.

It's about getting rid of the ego.

But when you try, the ego fools you and sends you deeper into the will to receive pleasure.

When you realize that, you become hopeless only to try again...and fail again.

    And that's where I'm at.

A ego centric maniac who only wanted to transcend time and space -.-

    • @Freakawn Spot on, its starting point lies in recognizing one's egos (because we tend to have many roles we take on in different situations whether we admit it or not.)

What I find enlightening is the "internal work" required in order to achieve greater perception and that is what I find so lacking in other systems where you can just join some group and don some label be what it may without necessarily having to do the hard reconstructive internal work that is the only thing that real More..
