Police showered in pyrotechnics and stones. Multiple wounded. Protests in Slovenia, Ljubljana (EU)

Action starts 0:20
Another video of the protests. The (biased) media called it a "war zone" and blames a 'handfull' of protesters instigating the police.

After the police decided that the protests were 'illegal' the protesters clash with the police. According to the report of the Ljubljana Police Department 15 police officers were wounded including one severly, several protesters were wounded aswell and taken to hospital.

They were protesting against state corruption, capitalism, selling of succesfull slovenian companies to foreigners, police state, ineffective courts, social cutbacks, etc. They demanded that the Prime minister, mayor of both Ljubljana and Maribor (two of the largest cities) and the political opposition to resign.

  • I'm from Slovenia and I was there! Police were actually very calm for illegal demonstration. We got more legal demonstration entire week and will get more next week.
Police were actually very nice and few even joined protest, others carried "red" flowers. And 99% protesters are calm and peaceful.
There was a group of "hired" protesters that throwed rocks and provoked police. And guess what? They wear masks! Anyone carrying a mask on protest means only one thing. He is up to n More..

    • @weadone Weadone, many of us old vets have discussed this, since we are supposed to be neutral and not take sides. But if the federal government told us to do something to our citizens who we took an oath to protect, we would definitely be on the citizens side. We just can't let anyone tear up the place.

    • @weadone They know that and they don't hit people for no reason, well maybe 1 or two you would find! But that doesn't mean every cop is the same! Our army isn't allowed to be called in this matter, except if it goes out of hand.
If president or whoever, would call army to protect them, many soldiers would throw their gun away and join protest. I would do just that if I would be called on duty.

    • @matesareany There seems to be a few occasions where the protesters could have hurt the police/rescuers a lot more than they did... You have to respect that.

They may want to hire a few extra police officers because that's one overwhelmed force we see in this video.

Let's be clear that I'm all in favor of the protestors.

    • @kalle111 You take away someones voice, and oppress them into silence, and what avenues do you leave them? Violence quickly becomes the only answer.

Make no mistake, Caucasian people world-wide are being oppressed. We are one of the smallest minorities globally, and our Countries are being destroyed from within by poisonous genocidal acts like immigration, which is used to displace us, divide us and eventually conquer us.

You take away our Nations, you leave us as Nations on-to ourselves, and More..

  • There are a few things missing from this video that you almost always see when there are protests and rioting here in the states. The buildings haven't been destroyed or torched, there isn't any looting and the police aren't beating the shit out of the protesters that aren't causing problems.

  • It wasn't the police who decided the protests were unlawful, it was some insecure person in power who felt threatened. The police were just thrown to the dogs to buy him some time. The blood of the police and the protesters are on his hands.

Because we are the citizens of a state which has some border dispute with Croatia in "Piran Bay/Gulf of Piran"
Croatians recently even started to call it differently "Savudrijska vala-Savudrija(Croatian nearby town) Bay" because Piran is Slovenian city and you can't name the bay Slovenian if you think it doesn't belong to Slovenia XD

    • @sqjam I completly agree. The worst thing is that we and Croatia have a common history dating back hundreds of years; The peaseant uprisings-Matija Gubec, the battlef of Sisak and generally the war against the Turks, the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs before we joined with the Kingdom of Serbia, etc.

I love the Croatian coast and I always cheer for them in sports if we are not playing against them.

Well ... It's pretty simple - All the republics in ex-Yugoslavia are in deep shit, economically of course.

Slovenia fared mostly well after brake-up of our former country and from my point of view, was a beacon of sane mind, prosperity
and culture to the rest of us.
