Fire consumes the accommodation block and bridge of the world's largest container vessel: Emma Maersk
A welding job inside the accommodation block of the 1300 ft long vessel caused a fire which burnt out both the accommodation block, and the bridge.
The fire at the builder's yard delayed the launch by six weeks due to the extent of the damage.
Emma Maersk is registered as having a tonnage of 170,974 GT, and is powered by a diesel generating 109,000 HP.
