Space shuttle Endeavour is on its way to a Los Angeles museum where it will spend its retirement. The shuttle began its move late Thursday from the Los Angeles International Airport on a two day, 12-mile trip to the California Science Center where it will go on display. In its service days the shuttle traveled at 17,500 miles per hour (28,000 kilometers per hour) to remain in orbit. Now it will be traveling no more than 2 miles per hour down the side streets of Los Angeles.
The Endeavour moved from its hangar and began its last journey just after 11:30 p.m. PDT Thursday night.
