Sialkot police played silent spectator's role during killing of two innocent youths by people: DCO
SIALKOT: : Administrator Sialkot District & District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sialkot Mujahid Sher Dil has said that the Sialkot police played a role of silent spectator during the brutal killing of two innocent youths, the real brothers, as the infuriated brutally tortured to death these innocent youths by taking them as dacoits in a nasty incident occurred in Sialkot on Sunday (August 15, 2010).
He said this in his letter written to the district police chief Sialkot. Administrator added the deceased youths were the innocent and they were not the dacoits and people tortured them to death in the presence of the police (including the presence of the senior police officials) on the spot and police did nothing, besides, the played the role of silent spectator. The people also hanged the dead bodies of the deceased youths with tree and water tanks near the building of offices of Rescue 1122 Sialkot publicly and the protesting people also tried to burn the dead bodies. Administrator added that the Sialkot police negated the facts, in this regard.
He recommended the immediate legal action against all the accused police officials for remaining failure in saving the deceased youths from the people. He also recommended the registration of the case against the people who killed the said youths by torturing publicly. Administrator Sialkot District raised the curtain from the negligence of police in this episode. On the other hand, Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhary has ordered the Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Waqar Ahmad Chohan and other police officials to complete the investigations within a week, in this regard. During the hearing of suo-moto notice in Supreme Court Islamabad, the CJ expressed dismay over the Sialkot police's slackness and negligence.
The deceased youths' grieved family said that their sons were total innocent and the Sialkot police was totally responsible, as they were brutally tortured to death by people as being taken dacoits. They repeatedly said that it was a result of negligence of Sialkot Saddar police that remained failed to save both of these brothers. On this occasion, a large number of the local people including some notables gave the evidence regarding the innocence of these youths, in this regard. The family added that their sons were killed in a row over an old cricket match dispute. They grieved family demanded a high level judicial probe regarding this tragic incident.
Meanwhile, District Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sialkot Hafiz Tahir Aslam, Ameer JI Sialkot City Shamasul Arifeen, former MPA Arshad Mehmood Baggu Advocate told the newsmen that both of the deceased youths, the real brothers were totally innocent. They said that the youths belonged to a well-off businessman's family residing in Sialkot City's congested Hajipura locality. They said that both of these brothers Hafiz Mueez Butt (18) was a first year student at Govt. Murray College Sialkot and his younger brother Muneeb Butt (16) a ninth class student at a local school. Both of them were used to say their five-time prayers.
