Americans don't owe them any thanks, they owe them an apology for standing idly by while they were sent on mission of nation building that was doomed from the start.

This is why america will decline. Only those with honor, integrity, and selflessness answer the call. Many are killed, maimed or mentally wounded. This leaves only trash like what we have in the white house, and senate to run the country. It happened in Korea, Vietnam , gulf war 1 and now this wasted war. By the way the president when the war started was trash too.
