I am no strategist, but bringing them into a built up area for direct fire is a no no!
Send em back 10 miles, get a good spotter on target ,lase it and let go. Much safer than loosing you arty.
Their armour dosen't protect much.

@DCX True , but that will require a spotter and a gunner that can fire without a line of sight ... Which I would guess is hard to find there currently ...

@DCX
With other words there was no direct thread, nice way to show how successful artillery is in destroying civilian property

@Atrey Yet T-72 have a lot bigger armor. SAU 2S1 armor can only protect against machine gun fire almost everything else will penetrate it. The only good thing is that the engine is in front so it acts as an armor too.

@fotoman4u2
Those are self-propelled howitzers. Artillery pieces put on a tracked chassis. You can see what they look like on the inside here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZPHHfX5LsI

@fotoman4u2 These howitzers are rather rusty around the bolt area's which may mean they came out of storage. Quite possibly FSA posing again.

Thats not even a tank...its a freaking howitzer..very slow and lightly armored with no MGs. Perfect for urban warfare..cant wait to see the video of these beasts exploding..
This is how it is when you firing it from the inside http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZPHHfX5LsI

Great footage of destructing civilian constructions
Tip: next time you make a movie, do it in such way that it looks there is some danger (so don't record from an open canopy, and shake the camera a bit more, it makes it look more realistic)
