'49 MG convertible, just like my dad used to have 1080 HD

My Father owned one of these when I was a kid but it was gold instead of red.
I am assuming this is red as I am a bit color blind.
I loved that car but he sold it as his family grew.
He never stopped loving cars though and also had an Alfa-Romeo, a 69 chevelle, a 68 Camaro, several 280Z's and a couple Triumph TR7's that he never got running.
He left us with a Japanese car we had to sell to cover the cost of his funeral.
Pedal to the metal and ride on.........

  • He also had a 1910 Dodge and a 1950 Ford pickup.
I did not remember the pickup but many years later I saw an old truck for sale with the engine in the back.
I loved it an bought it.
    It was a 1950 Ford F-1 with a '65 289 and a C-4 auto trans straight out of a Mustang.
I built it with the help of my then step father and drove it for many years all over the country and I loved that truck.
It wasn't till many years later, going through old pictures that I realized my Father had the exact same truck More..

Your last 3 sentences are so true. I too, didn't have a good relationship with my dad, and he died suddenly.

But I sure love cars! To put myself through college, I got good at finding interesting cars to fix up, drive for several months, and sell at a profit. They included: Fiat 850 spyder, '69 Corvette, '70 Camaro Z28, 240Z, 280Z, a tricked up Vega, MGB, and many "shit" cars like corolla & capri. Today it's a Triumph Spitfire and before that an RX-7 and before t More..

  • When I was an 18 year old kid with a new driving licence, I had the opportunity to buy a early 1950's MG TF in British racing Green for 120 pounds. Only being a young apprentice, that was out of my reach so I asked my father if he would lend me the money. He refused, saying I would probably kill myself in it. He was probably right, but I will never forget the disappointment of not owning it. Probably worth a fortune these days.

  • Got a 52 td, and a 74 mgb as a daily driver. Thing about those tc's and td's though is, they drive like a damn riding lawnmower. They have a single shock, well, damper in the rear end, dead center. At low speeds they feel like they are just gonna roll over on yah. It's kewl if your just puttin around town or something, but you cant lock it up or anything, no side windows of course, you can just unzip the ragtop, hop in and push it down the street, definitely a sunday toy. The tc has the much tal More..
