A violent anti-American
protest that began in Sydney's CBD has come to an explosive end after
demonstrators stormed out of Hyde Park and dispersed onto William
Police were forced to block traffic on one of the city's main arterial roadway as protesters fled.
Officers used batons and shields to try and quell the riot but the group broke free and run off as the chaos escalated again.

A march of hundreds of Muslims turned violent earlier this afternoon,
with police deploying dogs and capsicum spray to disperse the crowd.
