Quoted comment by Blackhawk067: Gee, are we supposed to compare this to the Iranian incident?
There will be another 'incident'. The recent one was little more than a taster of what is to come.
I think our current Naval men already proved they have more restraint, better training and better equipment to handle the situation in a more professional manner. If this was a "taste" of things to come, then I'm more than impressed with our boys restraint under a tense situation.
You guys are the one's who, for some reason, believe that Iran doesn't have the technology to correctly identify an American ship without having to pull along side it and write down it's identification numbers. I suppose those anti-ship missles they are always bragging about have to be delivered only after 5 speed boats have pulled up along side a destroyer and read the I.D. back to missle control.

In a tape recording that surfaced in 2001, President Lyndon B. Johnson admits that the Gulf of Tonkin second attack which he used to obtain approval for the Vietnam War from Congress, never occurred.
THE FIRST INCIDENT DID OCCUR
In 1995 the retired General Vo Nguyen Giap confirmed nothing ever happened on August 4 although he admitted that the August 2 attack was real. He believed US ships were trying to provoke an attack so President Johnson would have a pretext for greater U.S. involvemen

Iran was in their waters and we were on the edge in international waters... we were provoking in my opinion.
We just need to be aware of ALL facts... not what is spewed by corporate media and our proven corrupt politicions.
