BBC: FSA Islamists Well-Funded, FSA "Moderates" Not So Much
Part of channel(s): Syria (current event)

A recent article from the BBC shows how the ultraconservative Islamist groups such as Liwaa al-Islam within the FSA are receiving all the financial and military backing supported by Saudi Arabia compared to those who are more "moderate" and do not necessarily aspire to establish an Islamic State in Syria. Those Islamist groups have already started implementing Sharia courts that have led to the execution of most people brought forth for "trial".

  • There was a news report yesterday that Al Nusra has started attacking and killing more moderate FSA fighters for loot.

  • This is the aspect that is most troubling. The shitbags who have no right to be in Syria much less fighting there are receiving $$ support. The only rebels who can even be justifiably supported in any way by foreign $$ aren't h/c the west can't trust who's who and what's what.. This is what frustrates the western position on support. Sauds & Qatar should support the movement not those w/ self serving ideological agendas. If the consensus of a Sharia state is what the Syrians want in the More..

  • First the military terms used for Syria unrest are wacky, the term "brigade" often used for less than 100 personals, a brigade is 7000 up to 8000 personals. Secondly it is clear that political/religious groups are the facto more organized, and hardened in their resolve to fight than a mix of civilians from different background united by the necessity of the field aka "Moderates". What the BBC expect? nuns leading the fight against the regime of president Al Assad...

  • This is one perspective.

The guardian (newspaper) had the same conclusion but gave a reason. The islamic groups are well funded and experienced and so can fight very well with their many veterans.

MEanwhile, The Guardian stated that in general the FSA was hording weapons in the country side and can't fight because they will get massacred due to lack of experience and training.
