A 10-year-old boy has been killed by members of a wedding party in the Indian capital, Delhi, police say.
The child was riding his bicycle in Alipur area when he was hit by a car carrying the guests, reports say.
When the boy demanded compensation from the occupants of the car, he was beaten up, police say. Later, his charred body was found.
Police said the wedding party guests were drunk. Four people have been arrested in connection with the crime.
Angry residents of the area have alleged that the boy, whose name was given only as Sanjeev, was burned alive.
A police spokesman told the BBC Hindi service that a case of murder has been registered against some unidentified people.
"It's not yet clear whether the child was burned alive or whether his body was burned after he was killed. It will be clear after investigation," the spokesman said.
A large number of policemen have been deployed in the area, where the situation is reported to be tense.
