US-Pakistan alliance in the balance
June 1 - The White House continues to strongly back Pakistan's Pervez Musharraf amid challenges to his leadership.
Musharraf has been losing support at home amid a growing political crisis triggered in part by his efforts to dismiss the country's top judge.
