I am the 99% Parody

I have seen a lot of "I am the 99%" pictures around the web lately. I thought it would be funny to join them listing the things they do get.

Feel free to add things that I forgot.

(poor grammer and punctuation was intentional and "44 weeks to go" refers to the 99 weeks of unemployment available in America)

  • If Americans would look at their situation compared to around the world, we are all top 1%.

  • I would wager that 99% of the people on LL are among the "99%", and that includes folks from the left and the right.

Folks, left and right, you have more in common with each other that you do with the "1%". It's this difference that should be uniting us, details and semantics aside.

  • The louts hanging out at Occupy Wall Street don't look like 99% of any population I know.

Correction. They resemble 99% of the sociology majors at the local university just before those nerds realize that what they've studied for four years has left them entirely unqualified for a well paying job.

  • This guy is the 1%, and that's why he can afford that nice paper and scanner. The rest of us have to use keyboards like chumps.

    • @Intellectual
Didn't mean to put myself over as being in the 1%.
I am definately in the bottom 99%.

I just think this whole 99% vs. 1% is a rediculous arguement.

    • @Flashovr You have to qualify in my state for unemployment and go through many hoops. I never received any unemployment when i was unemployed. I was unable to get any assistance of any kind.

    • @Flashovr Agreed, I thought they were for minotiry right, now they are at war with 1% of the population.

What's next, the 1% of the population that are trannies?

    • @hgratacos_1 True nothing is free, but in the case of healthcare medical professional can not refuse someone in need at their doors. Its going to cost the american tax payer anyway so might as well offer free preventive care so they will not need to use the emergency room.

I just can't bring myself to give another free service. We feed them with EBT, We house them in projects, We train them in public schools and again in "Jobs programs"....I just can't bring myself to give them free medical care too.

Sorry, maybe I am heartless, but we have to drawn the line somewhere. We have to teach people to be responsible for themselves.
I learned more from my failures than my success.

    • @Flashovr Although I understand we learn from our failures and their are those will will aways take easy street from the government but think about it. If we don't give that crack head that EBT card he is going to get that crack money some how. And think about the guy who is going to hold up the pharmacy to get his child the medication she needs. Then what? Expand the prisons?

A country is often rated on how it treats its poorest. Remember.

Offering people money (or EBT) so they don't commit robbery doesn't sound like a good idea.
Expanding the prisons would put a lot of construction guys to work.
