Beau Henri Bruneau bludgeoned his mother to death Saturday night and then called 911, according to Hollywood police detectives.
The 29-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder.
Paramedics found the body of Nancy Bruneau, 62, in the front yard of the home she shared with her son when they responded to the call about 11:15 p.m. Investigators say she suffered "severe" head trauma, from a heavy, blunt object that could have been a hammer.
Bruneau was pronounced dead as police draped a yellow tarp over her body to shield it from neighbors.

Beau Bruneau was immediately taken into custody for questioning, charged, and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
Detectives have not yet released a motive for the killing.

She may have been abusing him all these years, and he felt sorry for her cuz she was divorced or widowed and he acted the man of the household and she took advantage of him and belittled him and ruined his self confidence like only a mother can.
