Air flow seems to break up over the wheels - why not cover them in? The front bulge would not be huge since Nascar tracks don't have any sharp corners.

I know NASCAR is the most popular spectator sport in the world, but only by those with a high school education or less! I'll bet there aren't too many MENSA members who gather 'round the TV on Sunday to drink Busch Beer and watch "The Race!"

@XR400R Probably not since less than 2% of people are eligible to join MENSA. Somebody out there has to help them design the cars though.
The changes they are testing here are for preventing drafting. With this new design they're either going to overheat when they get to close to the person in front of them, or cause them to lose down force and control. Which means more wrecks.
