I say both error. Obviously the boy did not look. However, the driver of the van, to go around the bus, went went into the oncoming lane and did not proceed slowly around the stopped bus. The boy did not look from the left because that lane he was hit in was traffic direction from the right. Everybody be careful out there. Hope he's alright.

Classic case of bus blocking visibility, over here we actually have cops come to elementary schools and talk about stuff like this.
Can't believe he was sitting conscious after the hit, looked like a straight roadkill from the first angle. Vans gotta be softer in China or something. Hope he makes a full recovery and learned his lesson, the driver can't really be blamed.
