Why don't they make a show about The Role of African's in the Atlantic Slave Trade? After all almost all slaves were actually captured and enslaved by other Africans. These slaving Africans then sold their captives to Europeans for guns, rum, cloth, and trinkets.

The slave trade is as old as humanity. In the 17th and 18th century slavery was common in almost the whole world. Also many dutch sailors ended up as a slave in North Africa when their ship was captured by the Spanish or by arabic slave traders. Most of them had to row the galleys for many years. Slavery was not a "privilege" for coloured people.

A recent international study estimated that at it's high point the Dutch slave trade made ca. 5% of the Netherlands internatianal trade. Saying that the wealth of the Netherlands was based on the slave trade is total bullshit and real propaganda. It's not the finest page in our history, but it was only a page, not a chapter.

When it comes to bad countries on this earth, The Netherlands is at the bottom as it is such a lovely country, with damn nice people. There are at least 200 countries that need to look at themselves for being shit but not The Netherlands as you are just right. I have visited and would happily go back there anyday. The Dutch people were brilliant,your country is lovely so good on you.
