  • The Mosquito was not the fasted propeller plane at this time. And it was greatly outmatched in speed by the Me262 of course.

    The Me262 was a jet, not a propeller plane.

  • Luftwaffe pilots were awarded two kills if they shot one of these down. It was a really awesome aircraft.

    Another amazing thing about this aircraft is that it was the first aircraft that ever had an aspect of stealth to it ... though accidental. The RAF noticed that something about the shape of the airfraft gave it a reduced radar signature, though they never followed up on the lead.

    I don't think he was directly referencing the ME262 as a propr air craft.

    I don't know though, What else was there at the time the Mosquito was manufactured? What dates are we talking about? It could very well have been the fastest.

    The ME262 came out far to late. Certainly later than this film, so they may be right to brag it was fastest.

  • My grandfather was a test pilot of mosquitos in ww2 in asia. I used to have an original mosquito manual which got lost some years ago, i think my mum threw it out when we moved house. Silly woman lol.
