The Robert L. Capp collection at the Hoover Institution Archives contains ten never-before-published photographs illustrating the immediate aftermath of the Hiroshima bombing. These photographs, taken by an unknown Japanese photographer, were found in 1945 among rolls of undeveloped film in a cave outside Hiroshima by U.S. serviceman Robert L. Capp, who was attached to the occupation forces. Unlik More..

  • Quoted comment by lurksandsmirks: Tragic...but let's not pretend we don't know exactly why this happened.

Given Japan's horrific treatment of the Chinese, Koreans, US POWs, and everyone else they encountered, I'm not too inclined to feel sorry for them.

The Japs were also launching balloons w/ bombs to ride jetstreams to the US west coast. They killed a picnicing family while the father (the only survivor) watched in horror. Everyone had declared total war on population centers. We just had the bigger bombs.

  • They brought it on themselves. They decided they would conquer the world and subjugate all other races. The world said no.

Try not to dilute the issue with historical facts. It makes difficult for the perpetual whiners to state their case.

  • Sorry for the Japanese forget it. I was with one of the men taken during the initial days of World War 2. He was a Canadian prisoner of war, tortured, humiliated, and starved. He survived but was never the same.
Did the Japanese government offer any financial compensation for the torture and treatment to this man and the others taken. No
Did the Japanese government offer any apology after the war to these men, NO.

But all you ass kissing retards who clamber all over yourselves crying about the BOMB and the death of the Japanese in these two cities. You are scum!
Historians have stated over and over again that by dropping those two bombs, it saved millions of Allied soldiers, and it greatly reduced the duration of the war.
And you dope smoking anti-war retards keep trumping out these photos all the time with little regards to all the efforts and sacrifices made by our courageous military men and women.
