  • "President Obama has failed to address civil liberties"?

    Wrong.

    NDAA, Patriot Act, etc.

He most certainly HAS addressed civil liberties.

  • as zizek put it- its one thing to know your wife is cheating on you, its another to catch her in the act.in other words the leaks revealed very little that wasnt known but the details were akin to in flagrante delicto.

  • I thought LL were conservative republicans.

You people always confuse me. Romney says Israel is our strongest ally, you all say down with zionist scum. This guy breaks dozens of national security acts, exposes US intelligence thus exposing our troops or foreign agents to the world and we had foreign agents killed because of this man. He could, and would have released information(if he had it) that could result in the deaths of Americans overseas and no one here cares because he's exposing More..

    • @docyoung 1. He breaks dozens of national security acts? No he didn't, he's not American. And the country in which he received and used this information was not America. So American laws were not broken as they didn't apply.

      2. You had foreign agents killed because of this man? What were their names??? You have no clue, no one has died as a result of these leaked cables, no one has even really been displaced...

The reason the US cannot legitimately detain him is because (in relation to the US) More..

    • @docyoung Hahahaha!! Lol you're not very smart are ya? Your article states that ONE man was killed, in a war zone. Imagine that? A man killed in a war zone? And here's the kicker, YOUR OWN ARTICLE states that "That is clearly not Wikileaks’ fault". You can't prove, and neither can anyone else, that his death was linked in any way, shape or form to the release of those cables. In fact, your own article states that 28 others, who's names appeared on the same files, are alive and well. More..

    • @John Lanzer

Fine fine, the link was bad, it doesn't make my argument moot though. Many were displaced and forced to leave their homes and countries due to death threats which ended any help these agents were giving us, compromising our mission. He aided our enemies, that's a fact. That's enough for me. If he had information that would lead to the deaths of American troops, he would have released it without losing a wink of sleep. It's obvious you have some sort of anti-american bias goin More..

    • @docyoung It does make most of your argument moot, and it's the most important part that has been made as such, you claimed that it was the fact that Assange had released documents which had resulted in the death of a man, when there was no legitimate link whatsoever between the release of these cables and this man's death.

"so it's no surprise you're willing to overlook the fact that all he accomplished is compromise our mission".
Because your mission is absolute, right? Non waverin More..

When he refutes the testimony of those women he raped in Sweden, under oath, in a court, in Sweden, I'll give a shit about anything that albino sociopath says.

    • Oh, you mean the woman who claimed he raped her, but then was snapped in a photograph smiling while posing at dinner with assange 48 hours after the alleged incident happened??

He has told the swedes that they are quite welcome to come and question him in the Ecuadorian embassy, but they won't... Why? Well they can't extradite him to the good 'ol US unless he is physically in Sweden... He's also said that he will face charges in Sweden if they give him their assurance that he will not be extrad More..

    • @John Lanzer
He is a fugitive from Justice, Swedish Justice. Interpol has a warrant for him. If he is innocent of the charges he can go to Sweden and defend himself. It's not like Sweden is a US lapdog, by a long stretch. They have never been a ally. He is creating a straw man defense to avoid accountabilty for his crimes in Sweden.

      Posted Oct-29-2012 By

    • @grunt He has offered to hand himself in if a simple assurance is given that he will not be extradited to the United States.

The Swedes refused. Tell me why?
