NEWPORT, NH. (WCAX) -- 42-year-old Aaron Aldridge walked into court Monday and quickly sat down for his arraignment. Aldridge who most recently worked as a radio host is charged with possession and production of child pornography.

Another count handed down Monday alleges that Aldridge sexually assaulted one of child porn victims.

Police say some of the pornography was produced inside Aldridge's downtown Newport home. Police have seized computers and video that they have recovered from inside.

Currently all documents related to the case have been sealed. It is not known at this time how many victims are involved, how old they are, or how they knew Aldridge.

Aldridges's arraignment comes three weeks after he first disappeared with his daughter Amanda. The 19-year-old was located in Florida where Aldridge left her.

He was tracked down by United States Marshals and arrested in California. Aldridge is due back in court in a week for a probable cause hearing.

He is currently being held on 500 thousand dollars cash bail.

Not only was Aldridge a radio host and former police officer, he also wrote a weekly family article for the local newspaper, "The Eagle Times." Police said they believe financial and marital problems motivated him to leave the area, but two charges of child pornography kept him on the run.

"I just didn't think that he was that kind of person," Newport resident Judy Ward told WPTZ on Tuesday. "I've known him since he was a cop."

Aldridge was a radio host for WNTK and was previously a police officer in Newport from 1999 until 2004.
