The cable car to Tegelberg (Germany) was halted on 8/12/2011 after a paraglider tandem flight crashed into its cables. Emergency helicopters rescued the 20 pasengers who had been trapped for 17 hours overnight. Strong winds made an earlier rescue impossible. Starting the paraglider with a collapsed wing tip and the lack of countersteering show a poor performance of the pilot. The pilot was unharmed while the passenger suffered minor injuries.
