They actually use them more subconsciously than intendet as some kind of "filling words" .Like when people say "ahh", or "uhmm", it has the same function there. Most Russians have used them so many times, that they, for example, just put them at the end or beginning of a sentence without noticing it.

Maybe I didn't pay attn as much at first but I thought they really were (actual) monkeys at first eating ripe berries in the tree or some shit (the red faced variety) until I got a handle on the perspective and saw it was russian monkeys.
