That's what my nephew told me. It's a thief status symbol thing in "the hood."
He used to be quite the little white "wigger" in his early teens, baggy pants falling off him, ball cap perched askew atop a bandana. Damn silly looking if you ask me. Thankfully he's grown out of it.
