Skydiving Accident Instructor Makes Very Serious Mistake With Student
I captured this from my Hi8 camera years ago and the audio is loud.
I
shot this video in September 1997. Drop zone is in Northern California.
It is a tandem skydive where the instructor wears the parachute and
harness and the student is in a harness attached to the instructors
harness at four points. 2 at shoulder level and 2 at waist level. The
instructor only connected the 2 at waist level.

How does this happen? I dunno how long the checklist is when you do this sort of thing, but surely making sure your student whos NOT wearing the parachute is clipped to the instructor who IS, has got to be near the top of the list??

Yea another Tandem Instructor who fucked up and never hooked up his student correctly. Fortunately he managed to connect him in freefall. I heard he was fired immediately.
