(November 14th, 2011) Members of the Syrian army appear to hit captives and make them chant insults against leaders hated by the regime.

The footage was taken on the 14 November on a bus on the outskirts of the capital Damascus. Members of the Syrian appear to mock the captives, saying "so you want Ararour" – an exiled Sunni Imam leader who is disliked by the regime – and go on to make the people on the bus chant insults against Sheikh Ararour. The Arab League voted to suspend Syria's membership from Wednesday and asked Syrian opposition groups to draw up plans for a transition of power, as a
prelude to a wider gathering on Syria's future planed by the Cairo-based body.

Meanwhile, Syrian army defectors attacked an intelligence complex on the edge of Damascus,
in the first reported assault on a major security facility in the uprising against Assad, activists said.
