Tree Uprooted by Hurricane Sandy Reveals Human Skeleton
New Haven police say super storm Sandy has revealed a skeleton beneath the town green that may have been there since Colonial times.
Police spokesman David Hartman says a woman who was with other bystanders looking at a fallen oak tree called police Tuesday after she saw bones in the upturned roots.

Putting the organic matter back into the system is what I like to think. Bugs eat the flesh, all the nutrients back into the dirt.

@madmatt It depends on the soil PH & other conditions. In the UK there is a TV show called 'Time Team' where archaeologists go on a 3 day dig at sites of interest, some of which are several thousand years old, and they sometimes find intact skeletons.
