  • Very interfesting.

When I was a kid, 501s came off the shelf as stiff as cardboard. You had to wash them at least once before you could wear them. Some people would put them on in the bathtub, then wear them all day and while they dried.

In those days (70s), whatever wear and tear a pair of jeans showed came from their owner. I'm not sayin' yer a fag if you buy pre-washed, pre-cut, pre-sanded, pre-fake-creased jeans. I'm jus' sayin'.

Dude, he said HEMP, not cannabis. You know, the fiber that you use to make canvas and about 1000 other uses.

Ironically, the war on drugs HAS caused endless insanity and death. Instead of Reefer Madness, we need a PSA movie called Drug War Madness. It can feature Michele Leonhart playing a piano really fast while she fails to answer simple questions about drugs, and Nancy Reagan going crazy and jumping out a window.

    • @livewire242
I want to see a production film about a pharmacologist back in 1937 at Temple University who injected the supposed active ingredient of marihuana into the brains of 300 dogs.

      Huge budget... big stars.

  • I did some graphic design for a guy in Jackson hole about 25 years ago. He had a designer jeans company called "Shotgun Jeans". Every pair was blasted at close range with a 12 ga. shotgun and then washed and distressed further. The result was a pair of jeans that looked like a car battery exploded on them.

Stupidest fucking things I ever saw.

  • So there you have it.

Levi's® and Wrangler's® Jeans are NOT "Made in USA" anymore.

    Thanks for that Rick!

    • @MANNY_THE_CREATOR I blame the greed of Executives and Investors.

Did you not read earlier that a Wal-Mart Walton makes in 1 hour what an associate makes in a year?

Time to really take control and put caps in place the disparity of earnings needs to be done away with.

  • It's a tremendous waste of energy and materials to distress the jeans because the life of the pants is shortened by over 50% in the distressing process. I find it cool to see jeans in all kinds of stages. Too many faded jeans make the streets look bad. There is a need for the eye to see dark colors to balance the light ones. I like very much the deep indigo blue of new jeans and knowing the faded jeans did not reach this stage naturally takes away from their value imo. An honest pair of faded je More..

  • This was quite interesting. We pay for these jeans to be destroyed. It would be cheaper to head to the thrift store for a pair of second hand
