This whole "greatest country in the world" rhetoric is divisive and only leads to resentment. America is a great country -- no denying that -- but "greatest" is a bit of a stretch.
America is a financial powerhouse because they had the luxury of not having the piss bombed out of them during WWII. Their manufacturing sector remained intact while most of the allied and axis countries lost a huge chunk of their producing power.

There is only a handful of countries that I'd leave Canada to live in... Finland, Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland and Norway. You could not pay me to live in the US. There is no work, you have to pay through the roof for health insurance that you'll be denied. The housing market is a sham. The violence rates are that of a 3rd world nation... America might be ONE of the greatest countries in the world...
...if only its people started to learn about other countries, rather than being generally appalling ignorant of other countries and other cultures.
In a survey a while ago, which covered all states all adult ages and all races, less than half of the thousands questioned could point out where America is on a world map. One indicative sign of the ignorance I refer-to.

@jeffbaustin But look at the question more carefully, as it's a slightly loaded one. I'm actually surprised that such a percentage got it correct. Most people would shorten England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland from the The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Great Britain in order to encompass all as a short form, though it's technically incorrect.
