George Zimmerman Makes First Court Appearance
Part of channel(s): Shooting of Trayvon Martin (current event)

George Zimmerman appeared before Judge Mark E. Herr in Courtroom J2 at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Florida, Thursday, April 12, 2012. Zimmerman was charged yesterday with second degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin who died February 26, 2012.

Neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman made his first court appearance Thursday on a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, as a court document provided new details on the prosecution's case.
During the brief appearance, Zimmerman stood up straight, looked straight ahead and wore a gray prison jumpsuit. He spoke only to answer "Yes, sir," twice after he was asked basic questions about the charge against him and his attorney.
His hair was shaved down to stubble and he had a thin goatee, which appeared consistent with his booking photo from the day before. He had resurfaced Wednesday to turn himself in after weeks in hiding.

  • Unfortunately for Zimmerman, he doesn't look like the president.

  • Burden is on the prosecutor to prove it wasn't self-defense. He will walk. Be ready for race riots.

    • @Iron Sights. If that were true America would be a different place. The burden is now on you to prove your innocence. Sad but true.

  • sucks to be him.. i hoped obama would have kept his opinion to himself instead of adding to fuel to the already tense racial tension.. if he's found innocent and a race war starts i wonder who the hispanic community will side with..

  • same music again = fail.
photo slideshow does not a video worth posting make.

    Here's a hint;
Next time, try to combine actual moving video with it's original soundtrack.
You should at all cost avoid posting more photo slideshows with that retarded music. Quality is more important than quantity.

  • He looks tired and has lost a lot of weight.

This will be Case Law for Stand Your Ground if they use that defense.

One of the arguements against "stand your ground" is that it is missused. Drug dealers are killing each other (in FL) and useing this defense.

In my opinion, that is an unintended Benefit of the Law, not missuse.

    • @Flashovr. Sad thing is we don't need a law to defend our selves. We need to defense our selves against the law now.

    • @Godinn
Well, before stand your ground the police would still charge you then you had to fight the charge.

Stand your ground is an affirmative defense where the police don't have to charge you or even take you into custody.

I love this law and I hope they don't change it.

  • You know, I'm pro-gun (2 - WASR AK47's, Bushmaster, Ruger .357 rev., colt. .38 super, 9x17 makarov, various shotguns and hunting rifles, Caterpillar D6..etc. etc.) and at first I supported Zim but now I reconsider. You want some gun-HOE, Law Enforcement Officer Wanna-be, going through your neighborghood, with pistol in hand akting all brave and 'LOOKING' for a confrontation with any Random guy walking the neighboorhood? What about when your 17 y/o son sneeks out in the middle of the night to More..
