Out where I live, there are a few overpasses that harbor bats, and at sunset,
they explode out. There is always a road runner, down at the bottom, waiting
for any bat to fall to the wash.

Those snakes are blind and use warmth sensitivity to sense the bats nearest to them when they hunt!

@MAKMAK Well, these particular boa constrictors in Mexico still have their sight, and you're right: boas, along with pitvipers, are able to detect both prey & predators by thermal radiation sensory organs in their facial pit.
