I hit a deer with a Chevette once . That was bad enough.

The deer is not ripped to pieces, those are pieces of his motorbike - you can clearly see the animal spinning off to the side of the road where it disappears from view (in one piece) after it is hit.

Sports bikes have sliced other riders legs clean off during races, so I think a deers' (and looked like a baby deer to me) 1-2 inch in diameter legs could easily be carved up by the vehicle. Could equally be the parts of the vehicle, but dont think it couldnt happen that the deer suffered amputation.
