A man and woman in Brevard County, Fla., were taken into custody following a high-speed police chase that began when they stole $45 worth of beer and cigarettes.

Investigators said Joseph Davis and Amber Spence kicked in the front window of the Quick Stop located on West King near Cocoa, Fla., Sunday and grabbed the beer and cigarettes.

The pair then jumped into a stolen pickup and sped down Interstate 95 and state Road 520 in northern Brevard County.

Deputies used stop sticks on the vehicle near Kiwanis Park in Merritt Island and Davis and Spence were taken into custody.
