CCTV:April 23/09.A machete-wielding robber attempted to rob a southern Indiana convenience store but got more them he bargained for with a tough store clerk. The struggle was all caught on store surveillance tape.

Samuel Brown, a clerk at the Evansville, Ind., Kangaroo Express noticed a suspicious man walk around the counter early Thursday morning.

The suspect, identified by police as 45-year-old Myron Matthews, pulled out a machete knife from his pants and began swinging it around. But the clerk wasn't going to just give in to the robber. Using a stepstool as a defense weapon the clerk starting swinging it at the attacker.

The clerk was able to get the machete away from the attacker and then chase him off.

Matthews was arrested soon after the attempted robbery. Luckily the store clerk just suffered a cut to his hand.
