Are GNC Supplements "going natural"?
 Part of channel(s): Yoursay (promoted)

Hi guys I just wanted to see your opinions and offer any advice if requested on various supplements out there. I have taken many different kinds from pre-workouts, to creatines, and various whey proteins/muscle recovery mixtures.

  • Get a sweet bright orange tan and some neon green parachute pants. And shave your chest and pits. You'll look fuckin HUGE. Chicks dig it.

  • man... people get sooo into the "work out" thing and make it 100 times more complex than it needs to be... just eat right, and stay active.. don't rush your body into changing.. not good for you

  • My brother died of an overdose of Creatine and laxatives. He was also performing auto-erotic asphyxia at the time but that's neither here nor there.

  • Natural is more something to brag about. No matter what you say, your boss will always have the upper hand because he got his way without supplement not only that, I bet you have wasted soooooo much money on that stuff when your boss hasn't. So in my opinion, doing it without supplements is wayyyy may rewarding and more bragging rights.

Also, don't a lot of competitions not allow creatines and certain supplements? Or doesn't it matter?

    • @Bthor420 I get your point though and it sucks that he's always got the last say. I can tell that he's only got maybe an inch and half on me on biceps but his muscles are much more dense than mine.

But then again, you can always say it only took you a couple years, so imagine what you will be like in ten years...

There more dense because of the years his put in, but let's face it, we don't want dense, we want size, that's why we lift, a good hit of whey protein 3 times a day with 4 healthy meals a day combined with some hardcore motivation is a winning combo...

no i only take a multi vitamin and fish oil pills.

the need for massive ammounts of protein is a myth that has been perpetuated by the fitness indusry which is mostly a scam, former mr universe mike mentzer said only 20-25 percent of your diet should be protein, the majority of your diet should be carbs to keep your muscles well hydrated and full of energy

Do you always speak of yourself in 3rd person?

Always makes me chuckle when people do this...

btw---sounds like a pretty good mix of foods for gaining

YOU NEVER ADMIT TO HAVING MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS.... NEVER...

That admission right there could get you fired from LiveLeak....Why would you do it??

  • Supplements add very little or nothing. So I suggest going all natural just to keep the trash out of your body.

  • Supplements are a waste. When I used to train (before kids) a balanced diet provided everything I needed.

  • As a sicko slob with many ailments, i can only offer you what works. Vitamins do work. If you take vitamin c 3 times a day you will notice it. The multi works until it exits your system for whatever you have forgotten, there is enough in it to do a lot of good. But any multi vitamin is so hard you may as well cut them in half, no way is all of it getting into your system.

  • Some supplements are certainly borderline cheating. Just eat a high protein diet and do a good chunk of cardio before your workouts. I eat peanut butter like they're going to stop making it soon. I find that works just fine, although I'm not an expert by any means.

Stick to free weights if you want to see bigger gains. Resistance training is less effective, IMO. And lift as much as you can comfortably do a full set of reps with.

  • I wouldn't take anything other then protein shakes,in HS we supplemented with shit like creatine,andro,nor-andro,and hydroxycut(no steroids though). You can't even buy a lot of that stuff anymore,Mark Maguire really made the andro popular back then.Anything other than protein shakes I wouldn't consider natural, don't worry about getting big, worry about being healthy,I'm bigger than my brother but he's a lot stronger than me(fucking genetics). This will work better than any supplement on the market More..

  • eat small and very regular..make a litre bottle of porridge add a scoop of whey protein... and there is a stupidly cheap meal replacement you can drink any time of the day! add honey for taste.. I do it all the time.

  • Well, this is a good question. And Ive tried supplements with no real gains.
Really its just eating more protiens. If you can afford to eat a big steak everyday, that will give you far more gain then the shit you spend out the ass on at your local fitness store.
Not everybody is ment to be HULK big. We're all built differently.
I work out as often as I can. Run,lift weights.....yodda yodda. I know Im starting to put some meat on my chicken legs and my arms and chest have grown significantly More..

  • Creatine and something like a nitrix supplement...

A Anti Aromatase inhibitor would be best, but as far as I know they took novadex Xt off the market...There is some new stuff, but most if not all is a waste of money besides what I mentioned...

and of course a good diet and plenty of protein...

As far as real gear goes, that is a huge amount of info to convey ...

    Good Luck

  • There isn't much in this modern world that I'd label "natural". Performance enhancers that are derived from a pure source, not lab grown, I'd be fine with labeling natural but if I then went and ate McDonalds I'd defeat my superiority trip. It's all about percentages, what percentage "natural" are you? No one is "All natural"

  • "Natural' has no legal definition for labeling under FDA rules, so anything can be 'natural', and it means squat.

  • i've been bodybuilding on and off for the past 35 years so i agree with a lot of the comments, keep it simple and drink a good whey protein shake in the morning and 30 minutes after your workout, eat a healthy diet with plenty of protein (daily grams of protein intake = body weight), fruits, vegetables and water. I've never had much luck with supplements other than protein, GNC basically has 4 products from 7 different manufactures in flashy packaging and catchy marketing phrases aimed at separa More..
