A high-speed chase that worked its way down State Highway 59 and the Sam Houston Tollway ended in a flurry of dollar bills and police officers arresting the suspect.

The chase, which started about 3 p.m., involved a dark colored Buick and about a dozen Houston police cars.

The chase ended at an apartment complex at Forum West at Forum Place in southwest Houston after about 30 minutes.

The suspect attempted to get out of his car at the apartment complex while handing off what appeared to be several hundred dollars in cash to a woman who was waiting for him. As he attempted to hand off the money police tackled him and the woman, sending dollar bills into the air.

It is not clear if the large sums of cash were tied to why police were chasing the suspect. Both the man who had been driving the car, and the woman he met up with at the end of the chase, were taken into police custody.
