R.I.P. young Marine. Gods speed!
A plane headed to a Christian youth event in Iowa was carrying five people when the pilot reported trouble over Kansas. He was given permission to land, but instead the plane crashed, skidding into trees and igniting. Three of the people on board were killed on impact. Twenty-two year old Hannah Luce and 27-year-old Austin Anderson survived the crash.
It is believed that Anderson, who is a former Marine and served in Iraq and Afghanistan, pulled Luce out of the plane and the two were able to make it to a nearby road where they flagged down some help. Both were taken to a hospital, but Anderson’s burns and smoke inhalation were just too severe. He passed away a few hours later.
Hannah Luce is alive, but remains heavily sedated.
